For our eighth collection, 'Self-Belief', we contemplate the importance of trusting yourself - on finding the confidence to pursue your dreams. To break away from whatever inhibits you. To create a space to focus on what is most precious to you. Now is the time to focus on yourself, your work, and your people. Now is the time to pursue a meaningful life.
This season we have added Straw, Myrtle, Feldspar, Lichen Blue and Mood Indigo to our palette, colours that echo subtle hues seen in nature - a FIELDS signature. Shades that are full of optimism and suggest bright summer days. We have developed a lighter weave for our 1 Pocket Shirts - a textured dobby cloth that lattices two yarn colours together, creating a new shade when viewed from afar that fragments into individual colours on closer inspection. We continually develop and refine our trans-seasonal silhouettes and textiles with every collection in the continual search for perfection.
FIELDS collaborates with local artists whose message and aesthetic resonate with us each season. We create limited-edition pieces that are true collector's items. This season we collaborated with Cape Town-based artist Hugh Byrne. Byrne patchworks coloured canvas - obsessively deconstructing and reorganising painted layers into new compositions and forms.
Our editorial shoot was lensed by Ricardo Simal and styled by Andrea Albertyn. Shot at Stilbaai Nature Reserve, we intentionally sought a location that would evoke a sense of meditative tranquillity.
