FIELDS is a design-led contemporary menswear brand for multifaceted men.

We create modern casual clothing for lives that move between work, home, the city and the outdoors with garments designed to feel considered, comfortable and useful across the different spheres of daily life. Reflecting this approach, the brand is organised into three interconnected fields: Art, representing work, creativity, leadership and contribution; Soul, representing home, ease, reflection and connection; and Outdoor, representing movement, tactility, nature and the elements.

Founded in Cape Town in 2019 by Mikael Hanan, FIELDS is built on a commitment to responsible design, natural fibres and Southern African manufacturing. We design with intention, creating garments that stand apart from disposable, trend-driven fashion through pieces made to endure.

We create two collections a year, approaching each season as a process of refinement rather than reinvention. Through careful attention to silhouette, material, colour, detail and construction, we focus on creating garments of lasting quality. Seasonal artist collaborations form a considered extension of this work, appearing as limited-edition pieces within the wider collection.

In recognition of this approach, FIELDS received the Trans-Seasonal Award at the 2021 TWYG Sustainable Fashion Awards and was awarded the 2026 Africa International Design Award for Fashion Design – Prêt-à-Porter.

We partner with specialist Southern African factories that are responsibly run, uphold local craftsmanship, pay fairly and treat their employees with dignity. Strengthening the local garment industry is central to our ethos. Our relationships with these factories are collaborative and long-term, with ongoing engagement to refine our designs, improve quality and minimise waste.

Our products are crafted from natural fibres chosen for their comfort, durability and ability to live well over time. Fibres are dyed, textiles are woven or knitted, and garments are sewn in Southern Africa. Regular collaboration with these partners is fundamental to the FIELDS process.

We design garments to be worn, cared for and kept.

FIELDS offers length alterations on all trousers and remains invested in every garment beyond the point of purchase through our in-store repair service. If an item requires attention, we encourage you to contact us. Each garment is carefully assessed by our team to determine whether it can be repaired, extending its life and preserving its story.
