Friends of FIELDS,

When we launched Hiding in Plain Sight last season, we explored the quiet strength of simplicity, subtlety, and restraint, questioning why we hide, and from what.  With Collection 13: Stepping Forward, I wanted us to embrace something different: the idea of showing up, taking action, and finding the courage to make an impact.

Stepping forward doesn’t always mean bold leaps. More often, it’s the small, deliberate choices that shape real change; within our communities, our places of work, our families, and even within ourselves. This is the same philosophy we bring to our clothing: refining a silhouette so it feels just right, adjusting yarn to improve its hand-feel, or tweaking colour until it resonates with clarity. Each shift, though subtle, brings us closer to garments that endure and pieces perfected.

This season, colour itself carries that spirit of momentum. Bright blues that speak of open skies and possibility, golden yellows that remind us of optimism, and touches of pink that bring warmth and softness. Together, they feel like a breath of fresh air, energising familiar forms and inviting us to look ahead with optimism.

We also continue our Artist Series, this time in collaboration with The Ninevites and Nkuli Mlangeni-Berg, whose handwoven mohair rugs celebrate geometry and colour with boldness and precision. Sharing mohair as a common thread, her artistry inspired us to translate her vision into wearable form. It’s a partnership that reflects what Stepping Forward is about: creativity, connection, and collaboration.

For me, Collection 13 represents both evolution and continuity, a reminder that progress is built stitch by stitch, and that each step, however small, carries us forward.
