This tailored t-shirt is constructed in a mid-weight pure cotton pique, making it slightly more formal than your average tee. It features a ribbed neck, a double-cut back yoke, and twin stitching at the shoulder, hem, and armhole. It is embroidered with our brand-mark Totem silhouette featuring our collaboration with Shakil Solanki - a Cape Town-based artist.
Solanki's distinctive style juxtaposes painterly lines with intricate motifs and draws on classical Eastern art. His work explores the duality of queer intimacy, myth, and desire, often within the setting of a secret garden. Solanki’s piece for FIELDS was inspired by a frame in Luca Guadagnino's 2015 film The Bigger Splash, which took inspiration from a David Hockney painting with the same title. It depicts an anonymous diver immersed in a pool against a lush Los Angeles background. Solanki said of his artwork: “It was this definitive instant which I chose to recapture... the sinuous lines of the swimming pool’s bed swirl beneath the waters’ depths before the soft surface is dispersed in a great wave of dancing liquid forms... This fleeting, ephemeral moment is protracted - vitality and emotion delineated in crystal focus.”
The Pique Tee falls under our 'Art' line which embodies our belief that your work is what you give to the world and is limited to an edition of 50 units.
