Sustainable Source of Supply

At FIELDS we showcase the high-standard and quality that southern African yarn and factory partners bring through their manufacturing. As such all our yarn is spun, fabric woven/knitted and garments are made within southern Africa.
We take pride in partnering with specialist factories, some of which have been in business for more than three decades. We work with responsibly-run sustainable factories that uphold local craftsmanship, pay fairly and treat their employees with dignity. We look at how our partners to make use of modern technology and new techniques to improve efficiencies and minimise wastage. Furthermore it's important to us that we facilitate local community support and industry growth. All this within driving distance of our Cape Town head office (or a short flight) allowing for regular and often weekly interactions with our factory partners.
The wool in our garments are Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) as well as OKEO-TEX Standard 100 certified. The mohair we used can be traced back to the source and is mulesing free.
More than 85% of the cotton sourced and used is Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) compliant. We aim to be at 100% by 2021.
The customer shopping bags we use are made from waste cottonfabric, sewn together by ladies who work from home in various rural areas around Cape Town.
