Made to be worn, with an outer constructed from cotton in a twill weave covered with a showerproof coating for projection against the rain, this understated FIELD jacket is designed to last from season to season.
Focused as much on function as form, the jacket sports four font pockets, a fifth inner secret one and a hood that can be concealed in the collar for ease of access and versatile style. The front zip is duel direction. The sleeves each have adjustment tabs as well as the left and right side of the waistband to ensure a perfect fit.
The jackets unique lining is made of combed cotton and features a collaborative design by Johannesburg-based artist Lebohang Kganye.
Kganye forms a new generation of contemporary South African photographers. Her work explores the response to loss and mourning through the eyes of the individual, history, language and culture. Kganye uses archives to create fictional history to merge illusive characters with “real” characters in a new universe. This is seen and translated in to the piece she created for FIELDS this season, having taking old photographs and creating a new moment of connection.
